Ocean Event Management was established by Sean Scott BSc (Hons), Tech-IOSH in 2008

as Northern Ireland’s only Maritime Event Management Company dedicated solely to the

promotion of Maritime Festival work and associated Event Management requirements.

Sean graduated from St John Moore’s University with a BSc (Hons)

degree in Maritime Studies, specialising in Port Operations, Maritime

Law, Maritime Commerce and Integrated Transport. With over 20

years management experience in the international logistics and

commercial shipping industry in Senior Management & Directorial

positions, working in the Festival and marine sports sectors with

projects such as the Celtic European Festival Of The Sea and the

Volvo Ocean Race.

Wendy Torrens BA Hons MSc, PGCE, a graduate of University of

Ulster, brings a wealth of managerial and practical experience to

Ocean Event Management. She ran her own occupational health

company for over 10 years - her impressive client list included the

British Medical Association and Coca Cola, and was fitness advisor for

the Irish Cricket team. Wendy has lectured extensively in Sports Science

and was appointed as the “Ask the Expert”, developing occupational health

programmes for VHI Healthcare - the largest healthcare company in Ireland.

More recently she has worked as a broadcast journalist within the BBC, specialising in sport

and is also a renowned journalist for Inshore Ireland writing on marine related topics.
